I have one. Are you thinking of getting one, or are you getting rid of yours?

oh, ok...I've never actually ironed ribbon with mine (which I am sure it does just fine - I am just not one to iron ribbon). I used it a lot for a class I taught that included using those Heidi iron-on words. I also use it to melt stuff

ok, now I'm curious...Sheri, I've had mine for over 2 yrs. (and it was in stores long before I finally got one), so I'm wondering, why the sudden interest in the ribbon iron? did you find something cool to do with it or just found one at a great price?

It made me laugh at first too...thankfully Jean let me use hers (despite me having teased her for having purchased one! ) to test it out for what I needed at the time (and not ironing ribbon lol) and it worked perfectly and easily.

whatever I melt doesn't get goopy because the goop melts within the object that I have placed it in...I have also "baked" with it, i.e. liquid sculpey.

if I need my ribbon to be straighter than it is, I hold my ribbon with my left hand, and with my right hand, put the ribbon between your thumb and index finger, and pull with your left hand while pressing down hard with your thumb into the ribbon...it words good enough for my purposes

now how about some bingo words for today?

Well I realized you dont "smoosh" the iron into the stuff you are melting... although that could have some seriously great applications!! especially on canvas! hhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmm

smooshing has been done in the iron as well (with the object sandwiched between wax paper or tissue so goop does result ) however one is limited to the size of the object that can be smooshed, melted or baked! I like it because it is handy, heats quickly and is great for small stuff.

OH doesnt smoosh like a regular iron would? Wait I am remembering now. It operates like a clamp, doenst it! KIND of as in has to heated sides unlike a traditional iron that has one heated side
